Chelsea's Eden Hazard Set For £115 Million Move To Real Madrid
Real Madrid are closer to finalizing on a deal with Chelsea for Eden Hazard as both clubs are believed to have agreed on his move this summer for £115 million.
There have been a lot of reports on the attacking midfielder's link to the Spaniard since he teased of his interest in the club at the Fifa World Cup in Russia last year.
Zinedine Zidane's return as Real's manager made the Belgian's switch even more imminent after negotiations kicked off between the club for his move weeks ago.
"We have been trying to make Hazard a Real Madrid player for several years," club's president Perez Florentino recalled in a statement ."
According to The Sun, the club owner Roman Abramovic has approved of the sale of the player who has a year still to run on his contract to the Spanish club. Therefore, there might be no turning back on the club's decision to let him go.
"I am very hopeful that he will come [to Bernabeu] this year. He's one of the great footballers. Last year we wanted him, but this year he only has one year left on his contract and it's easier," Perez added.
Hazard is set to earn £400,000-a-week from the contract Real are offering and his club also stands to make at least £100 million from the deal.
Apparently, Chelsea's tonight game against Arsenal at the UEFA Europa League could be the midfielder's final with the club. Nevertheless, Hazard, in his seven years spell at the club, won two Premier League titles, two FA Cup and one Europa League title.
