Bayern Munich Considering A Bid For Leroy Sane As Manchester City Hope To Extend Player's Contract
Manchester City wants to keep Leroy Sane for much longer and are already in talks with the player's representatives on a contract extension.
Whilst City are seeking to offer a new deal to the German whose current contract runs until 2021, the winger is top in Bayern Munich wishlist as a suitable replacement for either Argen Robben or Franck Ribery, both who will be leaving the club this summer.
The German Bundesliga club's chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirmed the speculations that the club is interested in the 23-year-old but he cannot "promise" securing his move.
"We will try. I can not promise whether it will succeed," Karl-Heinz said
Karl-Heinz also revealed that Leroy who joined City from Schalke in 2014 has been under their radar before the move, but there was no need of him at the time since both Ribery and Robben "were top of the top three years ago" at the club.
The club's president Uli Hoeness also said the same thing on their interest in the winger and revealed in a statement that they are "dealing with that name at the moment."
However, City are hopeful Leroy would choose to stay at the club and would pen his signature to a new deal with them
