Avengers: Endgame Crosses $2 Billion Mark And Upset Titanic To Be Second All-Time Biggest Film
It took Avengers: Endgame just 11-day run to write off the previous set at the global box office by Titanic as it second-weekend gross totalled at $2.188 billion globally.
Endgame maintained strong performance at the domestic box office pulling in yet a blockbuster gross of $145 million to retain the top spot for the second straight weekend.
In the international market, Joe and Anthony Russo-directed film have recorded a stunning $1.569 billion in gross after adding $282 million in the second weekend with China being the biggest contributor with $575 million and the United Kingdom contributed the biggest in Europe with $89.9 million.
Amongst countries with the biggest contributions are North Korea ($82.1m), Mexico ($61.6m), Brazil ($56.3m), India ($51.8m), Germany ($47.4m), Australia ($46.2m), France ($43.1m) and Japan ($34.4m).
With a budget of $356 million which is the biggest for a film, Endgame outshone all expectations and holds a remarkable record of the first film ever to ease past the one billion dollar milestone on debut with opening global gross of $1.2 billion.
Besides Avatar ($2.788 billion), Endgame is currently the second biggest grossing film in the global market ever trailed by Titanic ($2.187B), Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($2.048B) and Infinity War ($2.048B).
