Premier League: Phil Jagielka's Early Goal Wrecked Arsenal As Everton Won By A Lone Goal
Arsenal left stunned to have lost against Everton by a lone goal, stopping them from leapfrogging to third place in the Premier League table.
Arsenal barely controlled the match and did made some efforts to recover from the deficit, but held off to lose by Toffees which also did had chances to double the lead.
However, careless defensive error cost Arsenal the match when Dominic Calvert-Lewin's header bounced off KolaĊĦinac's foot to Phil Jagielka to poke into the net following Lucas Digne's long throw.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan came close to hitting home an equaliser for Arsenal, but the effort from 18-yard just missed the bottom left of the post by an inch.
It could not be doubted that Everton deserved to win eventually just as their manager claimed afterwards because it was obvious after the match that Unai Emery's side were left frustrated losing their seventh in eleven away matches in all competitions.
