Premier League: Manchester City Regain Table Lead After 2-0 Win Over Cardiff
Manchester City have overtaking their rivals Liverpool in the Premier League table lead having defeated Cardiff City at home by 2-0.
City's lead is yet very slim over Liverpool, who trail by just a point and will travel to Southampton for Premier League match on Friday.
Cardiff was well dominated by City and in just five minutes into the match, Kevin de Bruyne got a pass from Aymeric Laporte and slammed the ball into the top of the net for the opening goal.
Since City controlled the ball possession of the game, Cardiff couldn't even come close to getting an equaliser before Leroy Sane doubled the lead just before the half from Gabriel Jesus' chested pass.
City held on to the lead over struggling Cardiff, and in the end, made away with the maximum points at Etihad Stadium to reclaim the top spot of the table.
"We played really well. We started really well,"Pep Guardiola says "A magnificent goal from Kevin de Bruyne. Unfortunately we missed a lot of chances."
