Premier League: Liverpool Reclaim Table Lead With 2-0 Victory Against Cardiff City

Liverpool regained top spot of the league table after 2-0 away victory against Cardiff City in the bid for their first Premier League title since 2003/04.
Cardiff managed to hold the game down to a goalless draw in the first half as Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah wasted scoring chances and even came close to stunning Reds with an opener from Oumar Niasse's bicycle kick but ended after the break.
Georginio Wijnaldum wasted no time with Trent Alexander-Arnold's cross following a corner and smacked the ball into the net for an opening goal in 51st minutes.
The third goal later comes with nine minutes remaining from a penalty awarded to Mo Salah for Cardiff's Sean Morrison grappling and James Milner converted the spot-kick for the winning goal.
However, the hosts did have some chances to score especially Morrison's header following a corner before he conceded the needless penalty.
In the end, Liverpool extended their winning streak in all competition to nine games in a row and top the Premier League table with 88 points trailed by Manchester City with 86 points as title bid gets bitter.
