Premier League: Chelsea Regain Spot In Top Four With 2-2 Draw Against Burnley
With Ashley Barnes' earlier equaliser, Burnley made away with a point against Chelsea which they held to a 2-2 draw at Stanford Bridge and ripped the hosts off the chance overtaking Tottenham for third place in the Premier league table.
Chelsea had conceded an opening goal from Jeff Hendrick's early strike before Eden Hazard inspired an equalised with a pass to N'Golo Kante to finish from inside the area in 12th minutes.
Two minutes later, Gonzalo Higuain added in Blues' second goal after a one-two ball with Cesar Azpilicueta but 10 minutes later, Clarets found an equalizer through Barnes who smashed in a headed pass from Chris Wood.
Despite good possession by the hosts, they could not hold to the lead after Gonzalo Higuain put them ahead, allowing Barnes unmarked in the box from a strike from close range.
Chelsea, in the end, moved up to the fourth place tying points with Tottenham but the race for top four remain up for grab as both teams are closely trailed by Arsenal and Manchester United.
