NBA Playoffs: Kevin Durant Leads Golden State To Deal Huge 132-105 Defeat With L.A Clippers In Game 3
Playoff Game 3 did not turn to be good for L.A Clippers at home against Golden State Warriors which had them thrashed by a huge margin 105 - 132 and improved to 20 straight wins on the road in their postseason series - a record that is unmatched in NBA history.
Right from the jump, Warriors was unleashed their venom for an offensive and controlling first half over Clippers with Kevin Durant raking up 27 points and Steve Curry notched up four threes, to build up a 19 points (52-73) lead over the hosts.
Golden State would let Clippers follow their stead from Game 2 when they came back from 31 points down to win and widened the lead in the third quarter by 33 points with KD connecting two threes in the margin build up.
KD led the stats with 38 points, 7 assists and 4 rebounds as Clippers could not undo their obvious defeat despite outscoring Golden State in the fourth quarter (29-23) and would improve 1-2 against the defending champions in their playoffs season.
Curry, who was rested for the rest in the fourth quarter, finished the game with 21 points, one assist and 5 rebounds. Ivica Zubac who moved from L.A Lakers to Clippers topped the standouts for the side with a double-double of 18 points and 15 rebounds with no assists.
Afterwards, Warrior's head coach Steve Kerr told reporters that his team won the game by playing "simple and smart basketball".
"No halfcourt lobs. No wild passes. It was just taking what the defence gave us, hitting singles, just continuing to play," he said.
