Durant propelled Golden State ahead to dominate the game dropping 38 points in the first half whilst Steve Curry added in 16 points to outclass Clippers by 72-53.
Clippers had been resilient against Golden State with Lou Williams leading the side through the series with two road trip victories at Oracle Arena but in Game 6, Durant had the upper hand hitting six three-pointers and made 14-in-15 free throws and Curry finished the game with a humble 24 points, 6 assists, and 6 rebounds as the defending champions improved by 4-2 to advance into the semi-finals.
Draymond Green had an interesting night, dropping 16 points, 10 assists, and 16 rebounds for his fifth career playoff triple-double and Andre Iguodala joined the standouts with double-figure of 15 points, 4 assists, and 4 rebounds.
Golden State will put up with one of their arch-rivals Houston Rockets which they will host at Oracle Arena on Sunday in Game 1 of the Western Conference semi-finals.
Speaking about how to hold down Rockets' forward James Harden from doing damages to their trophy defense, Durant admitted that stop him would be difficult and urged his teammates to be ready for a "tough" game.
"He can score bin variety of ways," Durant said of playing against Harden "You can't fully stop a guy like that; you've got to be ready to play him tough all game."
