NBA Playoffs: Damian Lillard Hits 50 Points To Wreck Thunder, As Trail Blazers Take Game 5, 118-115
Damian Lillard's late three-point wrecked Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 5, 118-115 and sent Portland through to the semi-finals of the Western Conference.
The Portland point guard, 28, wrapped up the game with 50 points as the first player ever with such game-high scoring in NBA Playoffs history and added up to 6 assists and 7 rebounds.
Before the thrilling game changing three-point from Lillard, Thunder were up ahead with 15 points lead by mid-way fourth quarter before Portland closed the gap and levelled 115--115 with a reverse two-point bucket from Lillard.
After Westbrook failed to hit a two-point shot, Lillard took the ball and carefully waited until it was less two seconds at the buzzer and sent a 37-foot three-point shot down the bucket. It was a big knockout for Thunder.
"The game, the series was over, that was it. I was just waving goodbye to them," says Lillard.
"I was standing there lookinv at the rim and I was like, 'This is a comfortable range,' he recalled the thrilling moment he connected the three-point at the buzzer while being contested against by Thunder's Paul George who finsihed the game with 36 points, 3 assists, and 9 rebounds.
