Jimmy Butler's game-high scoring of 36 points and 9 rebounds failed to yield the game for 76ers which lost at home Brooklyn Nets by 111-102.
During a first half strongly controlled by Nets, Butler tried to keep 76ers alive in the game hitting a three-point shot at the buzzer after a two-point to trim the deficit down to eight points.
d'Angelo Russell, who came off the bench in the second quarter and notched up 26 points, 4 assists and three rebounds, held Nets on the stride to win their first playoffs game.
Right from the jump, Nets were straight out for an offensive against 76ers with six of the players finishing the game with double-digit.
Ed Davies, who was playing his 31st career playoffs notched up a double-double of 12 points, 2 assists, and 16 rebounds for Nets.
