Monte-Carlo Masters 2019: Fabio Fognini Upsets Rafael Nadal To Reach Final

Fabio Fognini dealt a serious blow to Rafael Nadal's bid for his 12th title at the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters, knocking out the Spaniard with straight sets by 6-4 6-2.
Fabio Fognini delivered a stunning performance against the second seed, overturning his 3-1 lead advantage to win the first set and cruised through the second set saving three break points for a breeze through the semi-final match and improved 4:11 against the world no. 2 in their ATP FedEx head-to-head meetings.
Aside from the Italian, Nadal has only been beaten by Novak Djokovic (2013, '15) and Stan Wawrinka (2014) and he dominates the tournament with 11 titles in his record as the all-time biggest winner.
During a postmatch interview, the 11-time titlist was not pleased with his elimination and described the match as probably "one of the worst matches on clay" in his 14 years of appearance.
It is going the Italian ace's first ever career final in the Principality and will be taking on Serbian professional Dusan Lajovic on Sunday.
