Los Angeles Lakers Dismiss Head Coach Luke Walton

Los Angeles Lakers has dismissed it head coach Luke Walton, bringing his three-season reign at the club has come to an abrupt. 
The franchise's general manager Ron Pelinka announced the removal of the 39-year-old on Friday and thanked him for service rendered to the club over the period of his reign.
"We would like to thank Luke for his dedicated service over the last three years," said Pelinka confirming the development "We wish Luke and his family the best of luck moving forward."
Just three days ago, Magic Johnson stepped down as Lakers President citing that his decision based on fears that Luke would be firing. He also added that neither Rob Pelinka nor club owner Jeanie Buss was aware of his decision.
Meanwhile, Lakers were off to a brilliant start to the season until LeBron James and Kyle Kuzma's injury spell, leading to the team spiralling downward in Western Conference to finished with a disappointing record of 37-48.
Luke, in his farewell statement, thanked the management and franchise for the support his received in three years as the head coach.
"I want to thank Jeanie Buss and the Buss family for giving me the opportunity to coach the Lakers," said Luke maintaining that the city and the franchise always have a special place in his heart.
