Jay-Z Shares Heartfelt Tribute To Nipsey Hussle At Rapper's Memorial Service
It was an emotional day for the family and loved ones of deceased rapper Ermias Asghedom otherwise known as Nipsey Hussle at his memorial service held at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles on Thursday.
Nipsey's longtime love London Lauren and his kids were at his memorial ceremony and did deliver their heartfelt messages before attendees that came out to celebrate his life and pay their last homage to him.
Amongst messages that was read at the ceremony was one from iconic rapper Jay-Z, who in his letter described the deceased as a "brilliant and inspiring" artist that left a remarkable legacy.
"The world just got to see a flash of your brilliance," Jay-Z wrote in his tribute to Nipsey "You were a curious soul who was evolving at a speed that was truly inspiring."
Nipsey was standing in front of his clothing shop "Marathon Store" in Los Angeles with two other men when a man approached him and gunned him down.
Hov added in a message "The outpouring of admiration is a testimony of the love and respect you've farmed. Sleep well King."
Also at the ceremony, former President Barack Obama of the United States also sent his tribute and called him one who saw potential in a gang-infested neighbourhood of Crenshaw.
"I've never met never met Nipsey," he wrote and stated that "While most folks look at the Crenshaw neighbourhood [and see violence and gangs] Nipsey saw potential. He saw hope."
