"Game of Thrones" Season 8 Premiere Records 17.4 Million Viewers
The "Game of Thrones" season 8 sets a new record for HBO's biggest premiere with 17.4 million viewers across its streaming platforms.
Until Sunday night, the fantasy series' season seven finale previously held the feat with 16.9 million viewers in 2017 having scored more viewing than its predecessor season seven premiere which had 16.1 million.
However, according to Nielsen, the huge viewing attention gained the Game of Thrones is not the all-time biggest premiere but ABC's series "Roseanne" which recorded 20 million viewers on Premiere.
Following in second place in all-time viewing is Jimm Parson otherwise known as Sheldon Cooper's "Big Bang Theory" with 18.3 million viewers and NCIS takes third place with 16.3 million.
