After over three decades, the comedy film "Coming To America" is finally getting a sequel and apparently its production is gradually picking up.
It became known to the public that the film which release date is slated for 7th August, 2020, is coming together following an Instagram picture update in which Eddie Murphy cast as Prince Akeem and his screenplay friend Arsenio Hall posed with the film's costume designer Ruth E. Carter for a picture.
Following the update was an official confirmation in the caption that all hands are on desk for the production of the well known comedy film.
"Good morning my neighbors!," the caption reads "It's official! Preliminary fitting for Coming To America 2 with Prince Akeem, Semmi and Oscar."
However, they are much older than they were in the eighties, but they still will be reprising their role in the Oscar winning film.
After a long wait for a potential sequel, off course at some point it could have been taking as never by many, Paramount Pictures and Eddie Murphy announced it that they are definitely working on the project.
Coming To America peaked at No. 1 on its debut weekend with $21.4m in domestic gross which was the third biggest opening weekend of the year, 1988 and closed with whooping $288m in global gross.
