Champions League Last 4: Ajax Take 1-0 Victory Over Tottenham In First Leg

Ajax made away with a much-deserving 1-0 win against Tottenham from Donny van de Beek's early goal to secure the first leg tie of the Champions League semi-final.
Spurs were left stunned when the 22-year-old struck a right footed shot from close range into the goal in 15th minutes, leaving the hosts to struggle through the half.
The game did not get better for Mauricio Pochettino's side despite having ball possession through the stretch of the match rather defender Jan Vertonghen went down with a facial injury.
It could not be doubted that the absence of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min cost Tottenham as they were unable to terrify their opponents which could have doubled the lead when David Neres came close to adding in the second goal.
"In the first half, we did not start in a good way," Pochettino admitted speaking to BT Sport "Ajax showed more energy, it was difficult for us to play. It was lack of energy."
Having won the first leg, Ajax are in the advantage with away goal in the favour and would host their English counterparts next week for the second leg tie.
