Barcelona Open 2019: Rafael Nadal Eases Through Against David Ferrer To Reach Quarter-finals

After a tough opener match with Leonardo Mayer, Rafael Nadal cruised through the third round match against David Ferrer to reach his career 13th quarter-final appearance in Open Banc Sabadell.
Nadal swept through the match by winning four break points over emotionally devastated Ferrer who clinched his racket after rain interruption as the world no. 2 eased through to win in straight sets, 6-3 6-3.
This is yet another 12th title bid for the Spaniard who missed out on extending his title dominance of Monte-Carlo Masters after losing the semi-final to Fabio Fognini.
On the other hand, it will be Ferrer's last appearance at the tournament and he ended with his 26th defeat to Nadal in 32 ATP FedEx series.
Nadal will face in the quarter-finals Jan-Lennard Struff who eliminated Stefanos Tsitsipas in three sets, 6-4 3-6 6-2.
