"Avengers: Endgame" Upsets Previous Records Set For Domestic And Oversea Gross, Opens With $1.2 Billion Globally
Marvel's film "Avengers: Endgame" upset every record set for debut at the box office in the domestic and for one go crushed the one billion dollars global gross myth.
The 3hrs long film, directed by the Russos raked in a record-breaking $350 million (£270.7M) in domestic gross on its opening weekend. In effect, it clearly overtakes the previous record set for all-time biggest debut by The Force Awakens ($119.1M) in 2015 and its prequel Avengers: Infinity War's ($106.3M) in 2018.
Overseas recorded was yet another outstanding performance from "Avengers: Endgame" with a remarkable $859 million which thrashed the previous record in the international market by Dwyane "Rock" Johnson's "The Fate of the Furious" ($443M) in 2017.
In Australia, Endgame made $19.7 million in gross. In the United Kingdom, it made the highest in Europe with $27 million whilst China led with the biggest of all at $330.5 million.
Adding all these together, it brings Endgame's cumul to a whopping $1.2 billion - an unprecedented performance at the box office as it concerns crossing the billion dollar mark.
