Akon Gives Candid Advice To Eddie Murphy And Co. On Casting "Coming To America" Sequel

Akon has a piece of kind advice for Eddie Murphy and the entire crew on the set for "Coming To America" sequel that can make the film more authentically African.
As the Icon rapper recommended, bringing in artistes of African descent like Michael Blackson who is from Ghana will help improve the originality of the film.
Given a good example of an African film that has recorded huge success at the box office, he cited Marvel and Ryan Cooglar-directed film "Black Panther" which costume was done by Ruth Carter who also will be the sequel's costume director.
"I actually want to commend Eddie Murphy, Arsenio Hall and all the crew for bringing it back. It was one of the most amazing comedy films ever," he told TMZ
Since the comedy film will be using concepts from Black Panther because Black Panther opened up a lot avenue for people to be educated on African movies, he suggested casting real Africans in the film.
"One thing I would recommend though is, they should put in the cast some African actors...because there is no way you can do "Coming To America" without somebody like Michael Blackson."
However, "Coming To America" first came up the screen in 1988 and was a huge success for Paramount Picture on its opening weekend, taking in $288 million.
