UEFA Fined Cristiano Ronaldo £17,700 For Improper Celebration
Cristiano Ronaldo may have got Juventus through to the Champions League quarter-finals having led a comeback to beat Atletico Madrid 3-2 in their Last 16 match, but he has issues with his goal celebration during the match.
UEFA has issued him with £17,700 (€20,000) fine for the celebration which has been adjudged to be a improper and diss to Atletico's manager Diego Simeone, who did similar gesture during their 2-0 first leg victory over Juvé.
Ronaldo's celebration was deemed as inappropriate conduct by the governing body and it is punishable only by fine under its rules.
Simeone also bagged £17,000 in fine for the manner in which he celebrated his team's first leg win in Turin, but he clarified that it was his way of showing that he has put a lot of efforts towards ensuring they won the game the first leg.
The Argentine, 48, put his two hand around his crotch in celebration of the Diego Godin's secon goal for the side with 7 minutes remaining.
