Premier League: Raheem Sterling Scores Hat-trick As Manchester City Beat Watford 3-1
Raheem Sterling scored his first hat-trick in four years for Manchester City during their 3-1 home victory over Watford on Saturday.
City moved seven points clear Liverpool to maintain top spot of the table in defence of the league title - fornight, they won the EFL Carabao Cup over Chelsea after a penalty shootout.
Watford hardline defensive play came crumbling down after the break when Raheem Sterling scored twice in the space of four minutes.
In the contest with Daryl Janmaat, the England international hit home Sergio Aguero's pass. It was challenged to be in offside position but referee ruled Sterling was not and awarded it to be an opener.
Soon, Sterling was well positioned in the box for a finish and Riyadh Mahrez located him with a cross to tap in for the second goal.
After an hour of play, he completed his hat-trick campaign after receiving a pass from David Silva and dribblex through into the box and drilled the ball into the post.
Hornets could not stage an after Garard Deulofeu scored their first and only goal of the match and are still unable to win a Premier League game against City in nine meetings.
