Naomi Osaka Calls Silly Former Coach Claims Of 20% Career Entitlement

Naomi Osaka is not having claims from her former tennis coach Christophe Jean that he is entitled to 20% of her career earning for life and she has filed a lawsuit against him.
Jean, in his lawsuit, claimed the US Open champion's father Leonard Francois struck a deal with him when Naomi was just 13, that he will forever be entitled to 20 percent his daughter's prize money and endorsement deals if he would train her.
Naomi's ex coach added that he has a copy of the contract signed by her father back in 2011 when he hired him as her coach. But, at the time he couldn't pay the rate.
The lawyer handling Naomi's case Alex Spiro described Jean's ccontract claims as "absurd and silly" from someone who is trying to exploit her status as international tennis star.
"While it comes as no surprise that Naomi's meteoric rise as an international icon and inspiration would lead to some false claim," Spiro said in a statement.
"This silly 'contract' that Naomi never saw or signed -- which purports to give away part of herself at the age of 14 is particularly absurd."
Last year, the 21-year-old defeated former world no. 1 Serena Williams in the final of the US Open and at Australian Open final this year, she beat Czech professional Petra Kvitova in three sets.
