Miami Open 2019: Roger Federer Takes On John Isner In Final

The stage is set for Roger Federer on his bid for fourth title in Florida after he had taking down Canadian ace Denis Shapovalov in the semi-finals.
Federer controlled the match over the 19-year-old, who caved in to the Swiss' brilliant combination of backhand and drop shots in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4 to reach his fifth Miami Open final.
Having reached the final, Federer becomes the first player ever to make 50 appearances in ATP Masters 1000 tournament - he won his 100th single title at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships.
Shapovalov blamed his defeat on his inability to keep his focus to stay in the tournament and admitted that Federer was "excellent" during the semi-finals match.
"Obviously I wasn't trying to focus on the fact that it's Roger on the other side," the Canadian said in postmatch interview "He played an excellent match. I wasn't able to kind of stay at his level. I'm just going to try to learn from this and move forward."
In the final, it will be Federer's eighth career meeting with American vet John Isner who defeated Felix Auger-Aliasime, 18, in straight sets, 7-6(3), 7-6(4).
