Miami Open 2019: Roger Federer Moves Past Danill Medvedev Through To Quarter-finals
Danill Medvedev could not stop Roger Federer from reaching the quarter-finals as he edges closer to his fourth title in Florida.
It took just over an hour for Federer to eased through, winning the rain-interrupted round in straight sets by 6-4, 6-2. The world no. 5 brought his drop shot brilliance in the match, serving five aces and breaking twice at the second set to win in his third ATP Fedex meetings with the Russian.
"Today's match, I can be really happy," says the 100 ATP tour level titlist "I hope it's going to give me some confidence for tomorrow."
In the Last 8, he will face South African vet Kevin Anderson, who past Aussie Jordan Thompson in straight sets, 7-5,7-5.
