Miami Open 2019: Novak Djokovic Stops Federico Delbonis, Takes On Roberto Bautista Agut In Fourth Round
Federico Delbonis showed some can do spirit in second round match with Novak Djokovic but that was not enough to see him into the fourth round.
Six-time champion Djokovic, was a bit of emotional at some points, yet was keep his momentum to eliminate Delbonis in straight set by 7-5, 6-4, 6-1.
The Argentine was impressive in the opener against Djokovic on their first career meetings. Unfortunately for the 28-year-old, he was not overpowered by the top seed, who eased through the decider and sealed the victory after his forehand shot was netted on return.
"Credit to Federico, he stepped in. He was the controlling the pace," Djokovic said after the match "I backed up. I didn't have that much depth and power in my shots and he used it. He didn't have anything to lose."
World no. 1 is making his 14th career appearance in Miami and will meet Spaniard veteran Roberto Bautista Agut in his next match.
