Jordan Peele's Film 'Us' Peaks Atop At Box Office As Captain Marvel Overtakes 'Spider-Man 3' With $910M In Global Gross
Captain Marvel maintains to reign atop at the box in its third weekend, but trailed behind Jordan Peele's 'Us' which peaked at the top spot on its debut weekend with domestic gross of $70 million.
As it is presently with Ryan Fleck and Anna Foden's directed film, Marvel's is set to welcome another superhero film crossing the billion dollar mark having grossed $910.2 billion globally.
The frnachise raked in $35 million from domestic market over the weekend and outgrossed Sony/Columbia Pictures' blockbuster films 'Spider-man 3' at the global box office.
Amongst films that Captain Marvel has shoved behind at the box includes Spider-Man: Homecoming ($880.1M), Batman v Spiderman: Dawn of Justice ($873.6M) and Guardian of the Galaxy Vol. 2 ($863.7M).
However, Jordan's horror film added $16.7 million to its gross from international market and outperformed its budget $20 million by 350 per cent.
Also, the performance recorded by 'Us' is the biggest gross for a horror film since Halloween ($76 million) in 2018, It ($123 million) 2017 and it is the biggest opening for a horror film in 2018.
