Gabriel Agbonlahor Retires From Football
Former Aston Villa forward Gabriel Agbonlahor has officially joined list of retired footballer following a statement he released on Wednesday.
The ex England international, who has been out of contract with Villa since last season, stated that it is time for him to be "fan and watch the club" play and he is grateful for all opportunities granted him.
"The time as come to officially retire and watch Aston Villa as a fan!!!," he wrote in an Instagram update "I wanna say thank you to all the supporters the staff I have worked with at a great club and my ex team mates."
Recalling how he started his career with the club, he stated that it wouldn't occur to him that he "would play nearly 400 league games, be the record Premier League goalscorer for Aston Villa, captain the great club and represent England at senior level."
Gabby started his career in Villa academy before he was promoted in 2005. He spent his entire footballing career with club and ended it scoring 86 goals in 381 appearances.
