Conor McGregor Retires From Mixed Martial Art
Two-time UFC world champion Conor McGregor has announced his retirement from mixed martial art following his statement released via Twitter.
Conor broke the news of his retirement on the social media network on Tuesday, that he has "decided to retire from the sport formally known as 'Mixed Martial Art' today."
The Irish fighter, who started his martial art career in 2008, won both cage warrior featherweight and lightweight championships in 2012.
In 2015, the 30-year-old set a world record of fastest victory in UFC history, beating José Aldo in thirteen seconds into the first round to win UFC featherweight championship belt.
In his last fight last year, Conor was humiliated in cage warrior lightweight fight with Russian Khabib Nurmagomedov, who defeated him in fourth round by submission.
He added in the statement, "I wish all my older colleague well going forward in competition. I now join my former on this venture, already in retirement. Propa Pina Coladas on my fellas!"
