Champions League Last 16: Alex Telles Sends FC Porto Into Quarter-finals, Beat AS Roma 3-1 (Aggr. 4-3)
FC Porto seized a crucial opportunity from a penalty conceded by Allesandro Florenzi and sent AS Roma out of the competition in second-leg tie game at Estadio do Dragão.
The two-time champions left Roma which ousted Barcelona last season, stunned with a comeback to reach the quarter-finals.
Roma's advantage from 2-1 win in first-leg tie was overturned by the Portuguese with Moussa Marega inspiring the opening goal for Francisco Soares to tap in from close range.
Danielle de Rossi scored from a penalty drawn by DiegoPerotti to give Roma the equaliser, but Moussa added a goal in by tapping in a superb cross from Jesús Manuel Coroner after the break to put Porto back in the lead.
Unfortunately for the Italian, VAR ruled Florenzi's pull on Fernando to be a foul and Alex Telles did just the needful and scored the spot-kick to snatch the victory for Porto last in extra-time.
