"Captain Marvel" Peaks At No.1 On Opening Weekend Grossing $455M Globally
Marvel's Brie Larson starring superhero film "Captain Marvel" made a remarkable debut with domestic gross of $153 million (£117.7m) to peak at No. 1 spot at the box office.
That amount hauled in "Captain Marvel" is the studios seventh largest on record. It did not stop at that, in the international market, it made an aggressive debut gross $302m (£232.4m).
In China, it recorded the biggest international gross on its opening weekend with $34.3 million, that happened to be Marvel's second biggest debut ever recorded in the country.
The performance recorded by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck directed film opening weekend, is Marvel's biggest domestic debut this year and seventh besides all the Avengers, Black Panther, Iron Man 3 and Captain America: Civil War.
