BNP Paribas Open 2019: Rafael Nadal Eases Through, Roger Federer Meets Stan Wawrinka In R3

Roger Federer kicked off his campaign for sixth title at Indian Well with straight sets win 6-1, 7-5 over German veteran Peter Gojowzcky in opening round match on Sunday.
After reaching a remarkable 100th ATP title in Dubai, the fourth seed extended his wins at the tournament to 63rd - the highest ever earned at Indian well.
Federer eased through the opening set but the German built up resilience in second set and saved break points to move up in the lead by 1-3. The Swiss got fired up to gain the lead and wrapped it up with Gojowzcky hitting a forehand wide.
In third round match, Roger Federer will meet his compatriot Stan Wawrinka who knocked Marton Fucsovic out in three sets by 6-4, 6-7(5), 7-5.
In another draw, Rafael Nadal had a cruise through the opening round match with American player Jared Donaldson, whom he conveniently knocked out in straight sets by 6-1, 6-1.
The three-time titlist will meet Argentine player Diego Schwartzman in third round - the Spaniard has a cleansheet Diego in six ATP Fedex meetings.
