Australian Grand Prix 2019: Valtteri Bottas Stuns Lewis Hamilton To Win In Melbourne As Sebastian Vettel Misses Podium Position

Valtteri Bottas has proven he is capable of springing surprises and he did that in Melbourne where he outpaced both Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel to win the Australian Grand Prix.
Hamilton fell short of expectations that he would wrap up the season's opener with victory 74th Grand Prix after taking his 84th pole with an hat-trick at the final practice on Saturday.
The Finn delivered a thundering pace to stun his team-mate and Vettel finishing quickest in 1:25:27.325s for his fourth career win and his first ever in Melbourne.

Whilst Hamilton trailed his team-mate by 21 seconds to finish in second position, Vettel failed to make podium position and was beating by Red Bull's Max Verstappen who took third position.
The five-time champion had complained about his tyres but was able to fend off Verstappen who after speeding by the German at Turn Three with six laps remaining, pacing up to challenge him.
After the race, Mercedes boss Tofo Wolff praised the Finns' performance saying, "He recharged the batteries, reset, and found his joy of driving again with the rally...I can see again the younf boy I first met over 10 years ago."
