Pelicans Beat Thunder 131-122 Despite Ruling Out Anthony Davies For Shoulder Injury At Halftime
New Orleans Pelicans snapped Thunder's four game winning streak by 131-132 despite Anthony Davies missing out the second half of the game following a shoulder injury.
Davies, in 16 minutes he played, scored 14 points with 4 rebounds and made 2 assist, and his absence did not tell on the team which moved on and outclassed Thunder brilliantly in the second half to win the game.
Russel Westbrook and Paul George could save from Thunder from losing to Pelicans despite the duo scoring a combination of 72 points, and the guard extended his triple-double scoring to 11 games with 44 points, 11 rebounds and 14 assists.
Nerlens Noel added up double double scoring of 22 points, 13 rebounds and 1 assist for Thunder but Pelicans were more vibrant with Julius Randle and Jrue Holiday leading the side scoring 65 points with Randle finishing with 33 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists.
Pelicans have shown they are up to the task without Anthony Davies who asked his franchise to trade him. It was anticipated that the six-time NBA All Star would join Los Angeles Lakers, eventually Lakers President Magic Johnson missed out for failing to make a deal before deadline date.
