Colin Kaepernick has reached an agreement with the NFL to settle his grievance lawsuit filed against it and stands to be paid as much as $80 million to stop case from going to trial.
The free-agent quarter-back started kneel national anthem protest against brutality melted to African-Americans by the police and have since being unable to get new signing from any of the leagues in the NFL.
In 2017, he filed a grievance lawsut against the NFL and its 32 league owner for collusion against him for initiating the kneel-protest and conspiring against him to render him redundant.
Apparently, that two-year long legal face off between Kaepernick and NFL is about to take a new turn followed a statement released by the league's spokesman Mike Freeman who claimed both parties are close to resolving their dispute.
On Friday, Freeman revealed in a tweered message that "Number NFL team officials are speculating me to me is the NFL paid Kaepernick in the $69 to $80 million range."
The San Francisco 46ers quarter's settlememt with the NFL also included his former teammate Eric Reid who was his cohort in the kneel-protest and will also have his grievance lawsuit filed against the sport top management body and league owners withdrawn from court.
There hasn't been any confirmation on what conditions the two sides have reached an agreement on. What is known is that their lawyers revealed that will be kept confidential between both parties.
