Michael B. Jordan Confesses To Seeking Help After Playing Erik Killmonger In Black Panther
Black Panther was a huge success for Marvel and finished at the box office as one of studios' all-time grossing film ever, but the impact it has on Michael B. Jordan who was portrayed as Erik Killmonger was different.
Jordan opened up that playing the role of the villian in the franchise devastated him emotional to the extent he resolved to seeking help people.
Explaining how it took a toll on him, Jordan revealed that he put himself into the film to portray the character Killmonger as much as possible not knowing it will catch up with him.
He revealed how it all started saying, "I just did whatever I felt I needed to do or whatever I felt was right in the moment every step of the way."
Since he did have an "escape plan" from character he portrayed, he thought it best to start talking to people about this and was helped by a therapist who made him realise that "Erik [Killmonger] his childhood growing up was pretty lonely. He didn't have a lot of people he could talk to about this place called Wakanda that didn't exist."
Black Panther is the first superhero film ever to win Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture in the history of Screen Actors Guild Awards history.
