Manchester United: Saudi Arabia Crown Prince Offers £3.8 Billion In Takeover Bid
Manchester United have reportedly received an offer of £3.8 billion ($4.9bn) from Saudi Arabia Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in a bid to takeover ownership of the club.
The Glazer family, the owners of Manchester United are understood not to be ready to sell the club they bought for £790 million in 2003 despite a huge profit of £2.2 billion they potentially will make.
Last October, the Crown Prince indicated his interest in the club but the move was marred by diplomatic constraints between the United Kingdom and Saudi government at the time.
Prince bin Salman's interest in Manchester United is to rival Manchester City's dominance in English Premier League which have become world class club since Sheikh Mansour of Abu Dhabi took over ownership.
However, the £3.8 million valuation from Prince Salman would hold provided the club interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is able to lead the club to UEFA Champions League ootherwise the value is expected to drop.
