Manchester United: Jose Mourinho Paid £19.6 Million For Job Loss
Replacing Jose Mourinho with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was at a huge cost for Manchester United and that imcluded his staff.
The Portuguese, 56, and his crew was paid £19.6 million when he was sacked in December after losing 3-1 to Liverpool resulting in United trailing the fourth position by 11 points - that was United worst start to a Premier League season in recent times.
As obtained by the BBC, the amount paid was revealed in the club's financial results for second quarter released to the New York Stock Exchange and it was stated that an "Exceptional items for the quarter were £19.6m, relating to compensation to the former manager and certain member of the coaching staff for loss of office."
Mourinho joined United from Chelsea in 2016 and during his reign won the UEFA Europa League title, EFL Cup and Community Shield on his debut at Old Trafford.
