Manchester United: Ashley Young Closes In On Extending Contract
Ashley Young is in talks with Manchester United over contract extension and is reportedly close to reaching an agreement.
The full-back is one of the longest serving players in the team and his current contract runs until end of the season. When an agreement is finally reached between both parties, he will stay at Old Trafford until 2020.
Last year, when he asked about his discussion with the club, the England international was confident of himself to deliver if his contract is extended because he would "love to stay" at Old Trafford.
"I feel as fit as when I was 21-year-old," says Young in December "As long as my legs can keep taking me up and down the pitch I'd love to stay here."
In 2011, the 33-year-old joined the United from Aston Villa for £17 million under Sir Alex Ferguson and has a record 14 goals in 169 appearances with the club.
