Chris Paul, Eric Gordon Lead Rockets To Pass Warriors By 118-112 In Absence Of James Harden

Houston Rockets had it all together despite the absence of James Harden and fought through game to beat Warriors by 118-112 on Saturday at Oracle Arena.
Rockets' Chris Paul was in superlative form in the absence of the reigning NBA MVP and finished the game reaching a career milestone of 17,000 points and 9,000 assist, making him the eighth player to have attained the feat in assist in NBA history.
Paul and Eric Gordon were inspirational to Rockets' victory Warriors which had a sloppy start. Curry and Kevin Durant later set the team up for a rally in second quarter and cut Rockets' 14 points lead down to 7 points by the end of first half.
In spite of the fought back and a tie up in third quarter, Warriors had a defeat in view the moment Paul converted two free-throws with 1.08 minutes remaining. They tried to overturn it but it became obvious when Steve Curry fouled on Gordon with 0.18 seconds left.
Rockets ended their winless run after two games with Gordon leading the scoring with 25 points, a rebound and 4 assists and Chris followed with double scoring of 23 points, 5 rebounds, and 17 assists.
Warriors' DeMarcus Cousin finished the game with 13 points, 14 rebounds, 2 assists - his first double-double scoring since his return from injury after a year hiatus. Kevin Durant topped the stats with 29 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists.
