Champions League: Liverpool Manager Jurgen Klopp Describes Goalless Draw With Bayern Munich As "Not A Dream Result"
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has opened up on his take on his team's goalless draw with Bayern Munich on Tuesday, in the first leg tie of the Champions League Last 16 and seemed not to be one he is happy about.
Red had chances to score but Mo Salah and Sadio Mane, who were the only ones that came closer, failed to convert chances they had during the game.
Speaking after the match, Jurgen described the game as one that finished with "not a dream result but a good one," however, he felt "completely OK with the game."
"We can play better. We should play better," he said considering the chance they had "In the firsf half we had the bigger chances. I can't remember any chances of either side in the second half. It wasn't ChampionsLeague night from that point of view."
Liverpool played the German side - which have failed scored a single goal in 4-of-8 meetings at Anfield - for the first time since 1980/81 when they won the Champions League by beating Real Madrid 1-0 in the final.
During his interview with BT Sport, he went to say that the result was a "positive" one for the team despite the absence of central defence player Virgil van Dijk who was ruled out over suspension.
"The positive is the result is OK, the best draw we can get. Yes, we can play better; we should play better. The tie is not over - we said that. We had to create the basis tonight that we can use in the second leg."
