Champions League Last 16: Bayern Munich Get Goalless Draw With Liverpool
Bayern Munich managed to get a goalless draw with Liverpool at Anfield in the first leg tie of the Champions League Round of 16.
Both sides were meeting for the first time since 1980/81 when Reds won in the semi-final and progressed to beat Real Madrid in the final to win the title.
However, today's match could have gone the Reds' way, but they failed to convert scoring chances against the German side which played defensively after the break.
Sadio Mane wasted a handful of chances in the first half, and Joel Matip also wasted a glaring chance from Roberto Firmino's cross inside the six-yard box.
However, in their previous meetings, Munich have only won 1-in-7 games and have failed to score in all three games played at Anfield.
Bayern Munich will host Liverpool for the second leg tie at Allianz Arena in the Champions League Last 16 on February 24.
