21 Savage's Team Blames ICE For Arresting Him For His Song "A Lot"
21 Savage's team has opened up on the rapper's arrest by ICE and alleged the agency of scapegoating him for dissing them in his song "A Lot".
On Sunday, the Hip Hop artist was arrested in Atlanta, Georgia for being British and living in the United States longer than he was allowed in his visa.
According to the TMZ, it was believed that Savage alerted the agency of his unlawful residency when he applied for U-Visa in 2017, which would have allowed him stay indefinitely but that was denied.
His group dismissed the given reasons for his apprehension by ICE and believed they knew he was in the country since his application for U-Visa was denied but waited until he crosses the line with them. They alleged he was witch-hunted for accusing them of detaining children at the country's border in the song which was released just five days before he was arrested In Atlanta where he lives.
"He released music five days prior to his arrest by ICE, which included new lyrics condemning the behaviour of immigration officials for their detention of children at the border," Savage's group alleged in statement obtained by TMZ.
The 26-year-old who many believed is an American, released his debut album "The Slaughter Tape" in 2015. Last year, he dropped his latest "I Am > I Was" and that scored him his career first ever No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
