Premier League: Manchester City Beat Huddersfield 3-0 To Close Gap With Liverpool In Table Lead
Manchester City claimed 3-0 victory at Huddersfield to continue strong trail behind their rivals Liverpool by reducing their table lead to four-point.
The defending champions have not lost a game since losing 2-1 on trip Leicester City on Box Day, and have scored 100 goals in all competition this season.
Shortly after the referee ruled out awarding a penalty to City when Terence Tongolo tripped Raheem Sterling in the box, Danilo drilled a 20-yard shot through was deflected by Jorgensen to the bottom right of the post for City's opening goal in 18th minutes.
The score-line stayed 1-0 through the first half until after the break when Sterling headed in Leroy Sane's cross from the left flange got the second. That was immediately followed with the third goal as Sergio Aguero set Sane of a striker with a header pass and the German slammed the ball in for City's third goal.
Huddersfield have not won a Premier League match against Manchester City which has only conceded a goal (by Liverpool's Roberto Firmino) since the second half of the season.
