Premier League: Chelsea Close In On Moving Up Table After Winning 2-1 Against Newcastle

Chelsea maintain their place in top four with six points clear Arsenal after beating Newcastle 2-1 at Stanford Bridge on Saturday.

The match was well controlled by Blues and it didn't take long before Newcastle dropped behind Chelsea as Pedro finished off David Luiz's cross for a fast break in eight minutes.
The scores levelled when Ciaran Clark powered a header home following a corner in 40th minutes and to equalise the lead for Newcastle. 

After the break, Willian settled the match for Chelsea, curling a superb right footed shot from inside the box to the post.

"Today was very important to get points," says Maurizio Sarri after the match "We started well but after the [opening] goal we slept for 20 minutes. So, by the end of the first half we were in trouble

Having won the game, Chelsea closed in on moving a position up the table with just a point behind Tottenham which are in third position with 48 points
