Derby County Sign Ashley Cole Until End Of The Season
Former Chelsea player Ashley Cole has joined Derby County on a deal that will last just through the season.
The club manager Frank Lampard in a statement described the former England left-back as an "excellent professional" player who is loaded with "great experience" that can impact his squad positively.
"He's a fantastic player, a quality left-back, and he also brings great experience to the dressing room," Lampard said about his former teammate at Chelsea and England national team.
The 38-year-old who has made 107 international appearance for England senior team will be the oldest player ever to make a team line-up in the Championship this season.
Lampard expressed his delight at the signing of the former England international saying, "I've made my feelings known over the last couple of days just how highly i think of Ashley and I have no doubt whatsoever he will be a positive addition to our squad."
Ashley won two Premier League titles with Arsenal (1999-2006) where he started his career before joining Chelsea. He made 106 appearances with Blues and won Premier League (2009/10), Champions League (2011/12) and Europa League title (2012/13) with the club.
In the summer of 2014, Ashley left Chelsea for Italia Serie A side AS Roma where he made 11 appearance in two season, and moved to Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy for two season (2016-2018) and re-route to England.
