Aquaman Topples Batman V Superman At Global Box Office To Become DCEU All-time Highest Grossing Film
Warner Bros. superhero film "Aquaman" seems to be set for the £1 billion milestone, as it maintained its reign at the box office for three consecutive weekends with a domestic gross of $30.7 million, bringing its total earning in the stretch to $259.7 million.
In three weekend, it has hauled in $681 million from the international market, totalling it gross globally at a record-breaking $940.7 million.
With this performance, the James Wan directed film overtook previous record set by Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice at the global box office to become DCEU biggest grossing film ever.
Currently, it is the fifth most successful DC film in the domestic market trailing behind Suicide Squad ($325.1 million), Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice ($330.3 million), Man of Steel ($291 million) and Wonder Woman ($412.5 million).
In the international market, large chunk of the gross comes from Asia Pacific where it raked in $287.98 million with the most coming from China ($261.2 million).
In the Americas, Brazil topped with $23.8 million (in Mexico it earned $22.97 million) and the United Kingdom led in Europe with $18.2 million.
