World Boxing Council Sanctions Deontay Wilder And Tyson Fury Rematch
The anticipated rematch between Tyson Fury and heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder is definitely going to hold following a statement released by the World Boxing Council (WBC).
The Council on Friday confirmed that it has sanctioned a "direct rematch" between the fighters whose previous bout ended in a controversial draw after a "unanimous agreement was reached through the board of governors."
It says inna statement that "the WBC is happy to confirm that a direct rematch has been approved and will create a ruling which will also consider the mandatory status of the division."
Both fighters were unsatisfied with the outcome of the result as both claimed the fight should have been awarded to either of them - Wilder blamed the referee for not awarding the game to him after he knockdown Fury in 12th whilst the Briton claimed he has more points than the American.
