Southampton Appoint Ralph Hasenhutti As New Manager
Southampton has appointed former RB Leipzig manager Ralph Hasenhutti as the club's new manager.
On Wednesday, the German, 51, who on his debut led his former team to second-place in Bundesliga, agreed to a two-and-half year deal with Southampton and will replace ousted manager Mark Hughes who was relieved of his job on Monday.
Confirming the appointment of Hasenhutti, the club chairman Ralph Krueger described the German as someone who is "hungry to take a new and challenging job in the Premier League".
Hasenhutti led Leipzig for two season and left the side after both parties could not find a conclusive agreement on contract extension.
