Premier League: Manchester City Reclaim Second Place After Winning 3-1 Over Southampton
After two games winless run, Manchester City ended the drought by beating their hosts Southampton 3-1 and reclaimed second place position from Tottenham.
Tottenham forfieted the position after their shock 3-1 defeat to Wolverhampton on Saturday.
Charlie Austin wasted a good chance to put Saints in the lead before City opened the scoring with David Silva firing home Bernando Silva's cross.
Pierre-Emile equalised the lead for Saints by snatching the ball off City's Zinchenko and dribbled into the box before smashing a right-footed shot to the top corner of the post.
Raheem Sterling reclaimed the lead for City after his shot was deflected in by James Ward-Prowse, and minutes later on the brink of half time, Sergio Aguero headed home Zinchenko's cross for City's third goal.
After winning 3-1 against Southampton, Manchester City leapfrogged over Tottenham to claim the second place with two points clear and trailed Liverpool by seven points.
